A sustainable alternative to Mahogany, it is often referred to as African Mahogany as it belongs to the Mahogany family (Meliaceae). Our premium low-sheen varnish has been carefully selected to enhance the warmth, depth and natural lustre of the Sapele veneer while preserving its authentic character. The finish beautifully accentuates the wood's rich chestnut tones and distinctive grain, creating the depth traditionally associated with waxed or Danish-oiled timber, while offering the durability of a modern protective coating. It provides excellent resistance to moisture and everyday household chemicals, ensuring your plinth remains beautiful for years to come.

Natural Wood Finish

For complete creative freedom, select our unfinished option. Each plinth is carefully filled and finely sanded before being supplied in its natural state, ready for you to apply your own stain, oil, wax or specialist finish. This increasingly popular option is ideal for bespoke interior projects or customers wishing to achieve a custom finish or colour match.

Natural Beauty

Every Sapele plinth is finished with genuine hardwood veneer, meaning no two pieces are exactly alike. Natural variations in colour, grain and figuring are part of the unique character and beauty of real wood. Unfinished plinths will appear lighter in colour before any finishing products are applied, allowing the timber's natural character to develop according to your chosen finish.
