Hire Terms and Conditions

The hirer agrees to insure the goods against loss, theft or damage at their own expense for the period of hire. The hirer also agrees to take appropriate care to ensure the security of the hired goods while in their possession and in transit. Title to all hired items shall remain with London Art Workshop Ltd at all times. All hire items are accepted as working and in good order at the time of dispatch.

The hirer shall not sell or part with possession or control of the goods at any time during the period of hire. Hire items will not be taken out of Great Britain without prior written authorisation from London Art Workshop Ltd. Any goods hired are the direct responsibility of the hirer once they have left our premises. 

If London Art workshop are arranging transport The hirer is responsible for all additional transport costs arising from loading and waiting delays, and rescheduling. The hirer will be responsible for any parking tickets issued where there is not adequate parking provision onsite or the driver is forced to leave his vehicle in a compromised place  to unload or assist in delivering goods required. Under no circumstances will the hirer add to, alter, modify, adapt or interfere with in any way any item hired, nor will they allow any other party to do so. The hirer will be charged for any damage, repairs and/or maintenance to the item that arises through misuse or negligence.

The hirer will notify Artplinths| London Art workshop Ltd immediately should the hired goods be stolen, lost, or damaged in any way. The hirer agrees to pay Artplinths full replacement costs for any item that is lost or damaged in any way and is beyond economic repair. If any hired item is retained beyond the agreed hire period, additional charges will be incurred.

Once orders have been booked any amendments will be subject to an administration fee of £25 + Vat

Note that hire orders are NOT suitable for transport with national shippers like UPS, fedex. Parcelforce 

A minimum charges for plinth hire orders may apply on small orders.

Hire Plinth Cancellations

Once booked and paid for, hire plinths are reserved for you.

Cancellations up to 7 working days before hire start date: full refund less a £30 + Vat admin fee   

Cancellations between 7 working days and 3 working days before hire start date: we will take a cancellation fee of 50% of hire cost.

Cancellations within 3 working days of hire start date: we will take a cancellation fee of 100% of your hire fee.

We will always refund or void 100% of your security deposit.

(working days are taken to mean Monday to Friday only and do not include weekends and or bank or Public holidays)


We apply a refundable security deposit usually £60 per item up to a maximum of £240 on standard orders . Glass perspex and other fragile or valuable items may incur extra deposit charges. Once the goods have been returned, we check the items for damage and refund the deposit within 14 days (although usually quicker) when no damage has occurred. Please note that we do not charge for superficial scuffs to paint work as we sand and repaint the plinths after each hire.

We assess damage as follows:

1. Returns in good condition and with the protective packaging supplied, with normal handling marks and scuffs are acceptable – no charge.

2. Returns in repairable damaged condition: we deduct £35 per hour per plinth for repairs (usually 1 hour).

3. Returns in irreparable condition: we will charge you the full retail value of replacement.

4. £8-15 + Vat is charged for missing bags/poly pads/damaged packaging and boxes. (Per item)

5. Perspex cases returned with any marks or damage – we will separately charge retail value to replace them as these cannot be repaired. This is not limited to the value of your deposit.

The main source of damage is due to the plinths being dropped on their corners and this must be avoided. In case of loss you will be charged the cost of the item in addition to the hire fee.

Changes to your Hire order

Once booked in and paid for changes to your hire order may incur an admin fee of £30 + Vat. Changes may only be possible where stock is available and time permits.

Liability Affecting Sales and Hire

It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure the product they have chosen is entirely suitable for the purpose for which it is ultimately intended.

The materials on our website are provided "as is" without any express or implied warranty of any kind. This includes warranties of merchantability, non infringement of intellectual property, or fitness for any particular purpose or event. All sizes are nominal and not mm accurate. 

Under no circumstances shall Artplinths or its suppliers be liable for any damages whatsoever (including and without limitation, damages for loss of profits, business interruption, loss of information, indirect or punitive damages) arising out of the use of or inability to use the products, even if Artplinths/London Art Workshop Ltd has been advised of the possibility of such damages. 

Artplinths and its suppliers further do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of the information, text, graphics, links or other items contained within our website. Artplinths do not guarantee to supply goods by any specific date and clients should not book venues or events or other service that depend on guaranteed delivery and that rely on goods arriving by a specific date but rather order goods well in advance and then book other services or venues or goods that may depend on them. 

Artplinths comply with distance selling regulations concerning our ready-made and made-to-order plinths (please see above). We try very hard to keep this site up to date and accurate; however, errors and exclusions are omitted.
